2007 - We are now Rockwerx!

This has been an incredibly busy year.  There have been many exciting changes at our company, reflected not only in the quality and scope of our products and services, but through our ever-improving website, our management structure, and our strategic goals.

In early 2007 Adventure Systems Climbing Walls began a partnership with Rockwerx, the industry leading manufacturer of commercial climbing walls in the US.  Less than a year later, we are proud to announce that Rockwerx has completed acquisition of Adventure Systems and now have sales and operations facilities in both Massachusetts and Maryland.  Scott Hornick, former owner of Adventure Systems, now runs Rockwerx sales and marketing from our Baltimore, Maryland office.

Product Development

We are always working hard to make the best products available, and in 2007 we have improved our walls yet again.  A major concern for all climbing walls has always been the standard of quality for the “t-nut,” the simple yet most essential and functional part of the climbing wall product.  We have spent years developing the best T-nut system ever manufactured and are proud that all of our new walls now offer this advantage to customers.

In addition to the advanced refinement of our t-nut system, we have developed and begun to sell other new products that will benefit the climbing wall customer.  Our new Geodesic Shapes or “volumes,” add cost-effective form and functional diversity to climbing walls.  Our Playground Boulders have been increasingly popular for municipal, home, and recreational customers looking to add some flair to their outdoor environment. We have also spent much of 2007 researching the best equipment and accessories out there to offer to our customers and have found top-of-the-line new Flooring systems, Bouldering Mats, and Climbing Holds.

Climbing Wall Professionalism and Growth

The climbing wall industry is growing at a fast pace, and with that growth, we have been determined in 2007 to develop better ways to meet the needs of our diverse customer base.  To that end, we have built professional and customized packages offering start-up training for new walls and also now offer complete professional routesetting and consulting services to help our customers best organize and begin operations at their facilities.

Alongside the general growth of the climbing wall industry in new fitness and recreational markets, we have built more and larger commercial walls as complete fitness and climbing facilities.  Check out this year’s stand out gym - The Enclosure in Jackson Hole, WY.  Rockwerx has also been on the cutting edge of the growth of competition climbing in the US.  Rockwerx built walls have hosted major climbing competitions such as the Teva Mountain Games, USA Climbing Nationals, and Mammut/EMS Bouldering Championships.  Check out our new Competition Climbing Walls section.

Our Website

Though we have been creating some of the best climbing walls in the US for over a decade, we realized we had not reached our potential in building the best website to highlight our products and showcase our customer’s climbing walls.  We are always developing our content to provide new customers with as much information as we can, and to that end have partnered with many happy existing wall owners to promote Rockwerx walls and their businesses – consistent with our goal of seeing our customers build not only a functional climbing wall, but a successful climbing wall business.  Check out our updated Project and Photo Galleries and some of our other new descriptive wall pages:  University Walls; Fitness Centers, and Outdoor Walls.
